Day 78 (15/11): Cloud Bread

For day 78, I made this fluffy pink lemon-flavoured cloud bread!

Cloud bread has been all over the internet, but I've been reading horrible reviews about its taste. Apparently, it tastes just like plain old eggs — some say even worse.

To combat the "usual" taste, I decided to put my own spin on the recipe!

Recipe

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

One egg white

One tablespoon of sugar

Half a teaspoon of cornstarch

Half a teaspoon of lemon extract

Optional: Gel-based food colouring

Instructions:

  • Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.

  • Beat the egg white and the sugar for about three minutes or until you reach stiff peaks. Make sure you're using a clean bowl (wipe it down with lemon juice).

  • Add the cornstarch, food colouring, and lemon extract. Beat until combined.

  • Dump the bread onto a greased baking tray lined with parchment paper.

  • Shape the bread using a spatula.

  • Bake for 25 minutes. The bread should NOT have been browned from the outside.

  • Cool and enjoy!

This recipe is a fun way to use up spare egg whites and get a delicious product at the same time. :D
