Day 56 (24/10): Milk Peda
Updated: Oct 27, 2021
On day 56, I made milk peda! I had opened a big pack of milk powder for the vanilla pudding (turned gelato), and I wanted to find a few recipes utilising the powder when I came across a delicious milk peda recipe.
Peda is an Indian sweet originating from Uttar Pradesh. Peda is served as thick and semi-soft pieces. The main ingredients are khoya (the tastiest ingredient to exist) and sugar. In this recipe, I substituted the khoya with milk and milk powder.
I've always loved peda, and I was so excited to try it out at home. I burned the first batch because I didn't stir the milk at the bottom. Luckily, I had halved the recipe on the first try. I started over with the second half and left with about enough batter for two regular-sized pedas. To make things more fun, I made mini pedas.
My parents used these for Karva Chauth. While I have mixed feelings about the festival itself, I did enjoy the pedas.
POTD:
Have a nice day! Bye. :)
