Day 0

Writer's picture: SaraSara

A few weeks ago, I watched the movie Julie and Julia. I'm not a movie buff, in fact, I rarely watch movies, but this one stuck out to me.

When I was in the third grade, my music teacher told us what passion meant. A passion was something that was on your mind at all hours of the day; it was something that made time fly by. For the longest time, I didn't have a passion. I did like a lot of things, but they seemed like fleeting interests – nothing ever stuck.

Then, I started baking. I wasn't a master of the kitchen when I first started - at all. I broke my fair share of utensils and burned a lot of food. But still, there was something about baking that always made me want to come back to it. Over the course of about one and a half years, it slowly cultivated into my passion.

Often, I don't get enough time with school and other activities to bake. I want to fix that by planning and taking two to three hours from my day to bake. Inspired by Julie and Julia, I will be documenting my journey on this site, and I hope to see you stick around for it!
